As of January 4th, 2016 the Big Dog Natural Food company from Brick, New Jersey has announced a recall of its products: Big Dog Natural Chicken Supreme and the Big Dog Natural Fish Supreme. The dehydrated raw chicken pack is suspected to have a Salmonella contamination, while the fish product may have Listeria. Both products were shipped online to customers in the U.S. between the dates of October 31st-November 13th, 2015.
Both humans and dogs may be affected by the Salmonella and Listeria, and are advised to wash their hands frequently and return the product immediately.
Symptoms in humans may include: nausea, diarrhea, cramping, fever, and vomiting (as well as the occasional occurrence of more serious conditions). Pets may exhibit signs of exhaustion, fever, abdominal sensitivity and pain, as well as a lack of appetite.
